| Streszczenie |
Udział podłoża gruntowego w katastrofie budowlanej można ocenić w kontekście dwóch aspektów. Pierwszy stanowią dane statystyczne z katastrof, które zamieszczone zostały w licznych publikacjach. Drugim aspektem jest analiza przyczyn katastrof i szukanie odpowiedzi na pytanie, jaki jest udział podłoża w zarządzaniu ryzykiem w projektowaniu inwestycyjnym. W artykule przedstawiono metody zarządzania ryzykiem i zdefiniowano źródła niepewności w zarządzaniu ryzykiem w projektowaniu
geotechnicznym. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na niepewności związane z percepcją i oceną parametrów geotechnicznych podłoża. Wpływ tych niepewności na katastrofy budowlane zilustrowano na kilku przykładach.

| Abstract |
The contribution of subsoil in the construction failures can be considered in two aspects. The first are failures statistics, which were placed in numerous publications. The second aspect includes the analysis of causes of failures and searching for the answer to a question, how subsoil contributes to the risk management in the investment design. The paper presents methods of risk management and defines the sources of uncertainties in risk management in the geotechnical design. The
article pays particular attention to uncertainties associated with the perception and evaluation of geotechnical parameters of the subsoil. The influence of these uncertainties on the construction failures is illustrated with a few examples.
