Paper abstract

Przedstawiono przebieg i skutki wybuchu pyłów w budynkach jednej z elektrowni węglowych, w której razem z węglem spalano również biomasę. Zapłon i wybuch pyłu w jednym z budynków rozprzestrzenił się na dużą liczbę innych budynków, wywołując w nich lokalne pożary i poważne uszkodzenia konstrukcji. Wskazano na poważne zagrożenia uszkodzenia stalowych konstrukcji obiektów już w początkowej fazie rozwoju pożaru.

The course and consequences of dust explosion in buildings of one of coal power stations, in which the coal has been burned with biomass as well, have been presented. An ignition and explosion of dust in one of the buildings has spread to a number of other buildings causing in them serious local fire and structural damages. The study indicated a serious threat of damages to steel structures already in the early stage of fire.
